Transformative advocacy requires streamlined stakeholder engagement at scale
Before implementing Sogolytics, CADCA was relying on traditional paper-based data collection methods that lacked the necessary structure and efficiency for their growing needs.
Darrell James, IT Director at CADCA, knew it was time for a change. "In June 2010, we decided we needed to get off paper and into a database online. We had no real controls in place for our data collection, which created a significant challenge, especially when it came to organizing and analyzing the information."
CADCA was managing multiple projects at once, including annual surveys, event registrations, and international training programs. However, the lack of an integrated system made it difficult to keep up with the volume of data being collected and to derive actionable insights.
"At the time, we were just manually pulling everything together—there was no real way to automate or simplify the process," James noted.
The organization also faced challenges around security, access control, and user management. As CADCA's IT infrastructure grew, so did the complexity of permissions and access.
"We were managing so many different stakeholders, from our research team to our training department, and we needed a way to ensure everyone had the right level of access without compromising security," explained James.
The team needed a scalable solution that could support multiple departments, ensure the safety of sensitive data, and provide real-time reporting across the board.
The team needed a scalable solution that could support multiple departments, ensure the safety of sensitive data, and provide real-time reporting across the board.
Sogolytics provided the comprehensive platform CADCA needed.
"When we signed on with Sogolytics in 2010, it was clear that this was going to make a difference for us,” James reflected. “The platform immediately gave us the flexibility we were looking for, from surveys to reporting and everything in between."
One of the standout features for CADCA was the intuitive, user-friendly interface of the Sogolytics platform. "The drag-and-drop question creation was a game-changer. It made survey design so much easier.”
In addition to survey design, CADCA leveraged Sogolytics’ robust template bank, which helped streamline the creation of new surveys. "The template bank is awesome. Whenever we’re not sure how to start a project, we can pull from a pre-made template that fits our needs," shared James. This saved valuable time for CADCA’s teams, particularly when working under tight deadlines.
The ability to automate data collection and reporting was another critical feature.
"With Sogolytics, we didn’t have to manually crunch the numbers in Excel anymore. The platform automatically generated reports, and the analytics were right at our fingertips.” This capability enabled CADCA to deliver insights faster and more accurately than ever before.
As CADCA’s use of the platform grew, they also appreciated the responsiveness of the Sogolytics support team.
The transition to Sogolytics paid off in several significant ways, most notably in terms of efficiency and ease of use.
"We used to spend a lot of time training people on how to use the system, but now, new team members can jump right in and get things done. The interface is so intuitive, they just pick it up," Darrell noted. This shift allowed CADCA to allocate more resources to programmatic work, rather than administrative tasks.
Another key result for CADCA was the ability to scale their operations effectively. With the help of Sogolytics’ event management tools, CADCA was able to handle large-scale events like Capitol Hill Day, where they registered 2,500 attendees. "We used to manually process registrations for these types of events, which was a nightmare. Now, with Sogolytics, we can manage the entire process seamlessly.”
Reporting has also been a major success for CADCA, thanks to the platform’s advanced analytics and automated reporting features.
"The reports we generate now—like word clouds and breakdowns of responses—are automatically done for us. We don’t have to waste time in Excel, and we can drill down into the data to get the insights we need right away," explained James. This has significantly reduced the turnaround time for data analysis, which in turn has improved decision-making across CADCA’s departments.
Finally, CADCA remains confident in their ongoing partnership with Sogolytics, with Darrell James saying, "As long as I’m with CADCA, we’ll continue using Sogolytics. The platform has only improved over the years, and it adapts to where we are at any given time. Plus, the support and pricing have always been fantastic."
