Here in the U.S., it’s officially been Fall for a grand total of 11 days and I can certainly feel it in the air. I am based in our Herndon, VA, office (just outside of Washington, D.C.) and the cooler temperatures have arrived! This weekend I picked up two pumpkins for my front steps and enjoyed a delicious slice of pumpkin bread. In addition to this being the start of #PumpkinSpiceLattes and the leaves changing their colors, it also signifies the start of a very social season. Perhaps it’s our attempt to hold on to the fun of summertime BBQs and pool parties, but Fall seems to have become a popular time for gathering together and socializing.
For example, our family has already committed to visiting a pumpkin patch, Oktoberfest, a Fall Festival, a college football tailgate, and a bonfire – not to mention trick-or-treating on Halloween and, of course, Thanksgiving dinner! It sounds like a lot, and it is, but the best part about events like this is sharing them with our friends and family. Like I mentioned above, it just feels like the time of year to get social. And that doesn’t just mean outside of office hours. At work, how can you find time to connect with your employees and customers? Many of you are already starting to think about how you’ll collect year-end feedback and that’s a great start.
Sending employee satisfaction surveys or conducting performance appraisals with Sogolytics will give you candid, quality data to really make a difference as you begin planning for the start of another year. And don’t forget about your customers. Did you know Americans tell an average of 9 people about good experiences, but tell nearly twice as many (16) about poor experiences? Collecting feedback from your customers should be a priority. A customer experience survey can tell you what makes your customers happy – and more importantly, what doesn’t. With quality feedback from your customers and insights into employment engagement, you’ll have the data you need to take action in the new year.
Consider taking advantage of this “social season” and share your survey on social media. In addition to your website and email, we’ve built in a wide range of social media integrations so you can easily invite respondents to participate and maintain the integrity of your data. For an overview of survey distribution options, click here and if you’re interested in publishing your survey on social media, follow these easy steps.
Sogolytics also has a lot happening this month and we hope you join in the fun. Find us on social using #SoGoTrickorTreat for tips and tricks, our Halloween-themed survey, and one very spooky webinar.
I hope your Fall is filled with fun activities (surveys included!) as well as plenty of time to kick back and relax with friends, family, the treats of the season, #andeverythingelse.
